Walk Cycle
For this project you are to create an animation cycle that contains all of the different leg positions to give the illusion of movement. You may use one of the cycles below, or chose an appropriate cycle from the internet.
1. Select a walk cycle and copy it.
2. Open flash. Select Modify, document and change the size to W 550 px H 400 px
3. Paste the walk cycle. Use Modify to size the cycle to fit the screen.
4. Lock the cycle layer. This will be your trace layer.
5. Insert or add a new layer. Make sure the new layer is placed on top of the cycle layer. Rename this layer person.
6. On the new layer, go to frame 1 and trace the first image using the pencil or straight line tool, whichever tool you are most comfortable with.
When you are finished, press the F6 key to create a new key frame.
7. Go to frame 2 and trace the second image. Erase the first image from frame 2. When you press F6 you are copying the previous frame and pasting it into the next frame.
8. Continue these steps until you have 1 image in each frame of the person layer. (example: image 1 in frame 1, image 2 in frame 2, etc.)
9. Use the paint bucket tool to fill in each image. You may have to select the option fill large gaps from the tool palette.
10. Delete the trace layer.
11. Add a new layer. Rename this layer sky. This will be your sky layer. Make sure the sky layer is placed below the person layer.
12. Using the square tool, draw a square the size of the page or stage.
13. Choose a fill color for the sky, and set the stroke color for no outline (white box with red line).
14. Add some kind of background images, clouds, sun, moon, stars...something that works with your person image.15. Add a new layer. Rename this layer background. This will be your background layer. Make sure the background layer is placed below the person and sky layers.
15. Add some kind of background images, grass, trees, fence, buildings...something that works with your person image.
16. On the person layer, select all frames. (select frame 1, hold down the shift key and select the last frame example frame 9)
17. Go to edit copy frames. Go to next frame example frame 10, select edit paste frames. Continue to past frames until you have 4 cycles.
18. Save your project. Select edit save as and save it as a Flash project.
19. Export your project as a movie with a different name. Go to Save, export movie. Export movie as a Flash Movie File. Set the quality to high (slider to the right). Name your project, Press OK, Press OK.
20. Go to weebly.com Log in and go to media. Drag the Flash element to the page. Double click on the icon and upload your file.
21. Press the Publish button to publish your page.
